Principal's Message

Dear Rancho Vista Families,

It is with great excitement that I welcome you to the 2026-2027 school year! Whether you are returning to Rancho Vista or joining our community for the very first time, we are thrilled to have you as part of our Roadrunner family. Our dedicated teachers and staff have been working hard to prepare for an incredible year of learning, growth, and memorable experiences, and we can't wait to welcome students back to campus.

At Rancho Vista, we believe every child deserves a learning environment where they feel safe, respected, challenged, and encouraged to do their very best. Our commitment extends beyond academics as we strive to support the whole child by fostering confidence, kindness, resilience, and a love of learning. Together, we will continue to create a school culture where every student is empowered to reach their fullest potential.

This year, we are excited to continue providing high-quality instruction through engaging, research-based programs that inspire curiosity and critical thinking.

Mathematics: Language Arts:
Students in kindergarten through fifth grade will continue learning through the Wonders literacy program, participating in purposeful literacy rotations that include independent reading, writing, partner reading, listening activities, and word study to strengthen reading and writing skills.
Foundational Reading Skills:
Students in grades K-3 will continue to benefit from our district-adopted Heggerty phonemic awareness curriculum, helping them develop the essential building blocks needed to become confident and successful readers.
Science:
These instructional programs, along with the many enrichment opportunities offered at Rancho Vista, reflect our commitment to providing a rigorous, engaging, and well-rounded educational experience that prepares students for success both inside and outside the classroom.

We know that when schools and families work together, students thrive. We encourage you to stay involved throughout the year by volunteering, attending school events, participating in PTA activities, and maintaining open communication with your child's teacher. Your partnership plays an invaluable role in creating a positive and successful educational experience for every student.

We are also incredibly thankful for the ongoing support of our PTA and the Peninsula Education Foundation (PEF). Their generosity helps make many of the programs that make Rancho Vista so special possible, including music, Art at Your Fingertips, field trips, assemblies, our Learning Garden, classroom enrichment opportunities, and countless other experiences that enhance student learning.

As we begin another exciting school year, I look forward to partnering with each of you to ensure every child has the opportunity to learn, grow, and shine. Thank you for entrusting us with your children. Together, we will make the 2026-2027 school year one filled with achievement, connection, and lasting memories.

Let's make it another amazing year together—Let's Go, Rancho!
