Principal's Message

Dear Rancho Vista Parents,
Welcome to the 2024-25 school year! On behalf of the entire faculty and staff at Rancho Vista, I would like to extend a warm welcome to both our returning and new families. We are thrilled to have your child(ren) as part of our school community, and we are looking forward to a successful, engaging, and enriching year. As we embark on this journey together, our shared goal remains the same: to provide a nurturing, inclusive and well-rounded environment that fosters academic growth, personal development, and a love of learning. We are committed to ensuring that EVERY child feels welcomed, valued, supported, and inspired to reach their fullest potential.
This year, we are excited to continue to build on our strong tradition of providing ALL students a well balanced and rigorous educational environment. Students will continue their learning through Cognitively Guided Instruction (CGI) with the use of our district adopted Math In Focus curriculum and we will continue to influence instruction based on students’ understanding and mathematical thinking. In language arts, we will continue to use the programs in which students will build independent reading stamina and work in small groups including reading to self, work on writing, reading to someone, listen to reading, and word work. TK through Grade 5 will also continue to use our adopted Language Arts Wonders curriculum to enrich their love of reading. All grades will continue to dive into our Science standards while providing our children with a forward-thinking and a hands-on learning science experience through our adopted StemScopes curriculum. These programs, along with many others, are in line with Rancho Vista’s school mission of providing ALL students with an engaging and challenging learning environment that empowers students to become high achieving, responsible and productive citizens of the world.
We believe in the power of collaboration between home and school, and we encourage open communication and partnership throughout the year. We have many opportunities for parents and guardians to be involved, from volunteering in the classroom to attending school events and meetings. Your engagement plays an essential role in building a strong school community. While the state provides a minimum level of funding for our school, it is truly the PTA and PEF which both fund many of our outstanding special programs and staff at Rancho Vista including Music, Art at Your Fingertips, exciting Field Trips, the Learning Garden, a variety of Assemblies, and so much more.
We look forward to an exciting and successful year, and we are here to support you and your child every step of the way! Let’s Go, Rancho!
